Our clients will say that we are not your typical CPA firm. While there is no such thing as typical these days, we'll still take that as a compliment!
COMMUNICATION: The simplest of these is simply responding to calls and emails. While it is a sad state of affairs when this is lacking from other providers, but we also do our best to return all calls and emails within 24 hours. Email is always best, as we are often in client appointments and unable to grab the phone when it rights.

EDUCATION: We also believe that every taxpayer has the right to understand their tax situation. While others try to justify their work by talking over client’s head and making it all seem complicated, we take a different approach. We believe that it’s our job to fully explain the details, as many times as it takes, until our clients feel like they understand their situation. After all, it’s their taxes, not ours, and the key to saving money on taxes is knowledge!

CONNECTION: We do this job because we love people, not paperwork. Connection is critically important to us. If you're looking for a formal setting, you won't find it here. The best part of our job is being able to get to know our clients and help them with their financial situation, far beyond their tax return.

MEDIA: Because of her straight shooter approach, Knight Accounting's founder, Michele Knight, has been asked to contribute to NPR Marketplace the Wall Street Journal, CNN Money, The National Association of Tax Professionals, the Summit Daily, and Thomson Reuters Continuing Education Programs for accountants. Michele Knight, CPA/Owner

There is no doubt, I was born to be a CPA. I learned to read with the Wall Street Journal and I always preferred a 10-key to a video game. I graduated from St. Michael's College with degrees in Accounting, Business Administration and Economics.
After working in public accounting (Arthur Andersen) and the restaurant industry (Qdoba Mexican Grill and Dave & Buster's), I realized that my passion was helping individuals and small businesses, not large corporations. At age 24, I decided to "hang a shingle" and I've been serving clients ever since.
I'm blessed with a wonderful work/life balance, and I work primarily from my home in Frisco, CO. My passion is travelling, laptop and phone in hand, but you'll usually find me in the mountains chasing my kiddos and our three pups. I am a 20+ year member of Rotary International and I am passionate and proud to serve as part of an amazing organization.

Before having kids, I enjoyed running, biking, skiing, trampolines and diving boards, but now I admit to enjoying being a spectator the most! Nothing makes me happier than watching kids be kids. We do our best to keep life simple, including spending many days out on the water kayaking and fishing (and laughing at me screaming like a little girl when they land one because I'm terrified of fish!).

As a family, we enjoy volunteering with Animal Rescue of the Rockies and our local shelter, and we frequently bring in pregnant foster dog mamas from high kill shelters and help them birth and raise their babies. We have a few too many "foster fails" running around the house, but every moment has been amazing!

Life is short, and I can honestly say our family makes the most of every precious day!
